Far West LHD at Agfair – program of helpful information presentations

Short information sessions on a variety of topics to help you stay healthy now and in the future will be presented at the Far West Local Health District stall at Agfair 2018.

The Far West LHD will be in the Rotary Pavilion again at Agfair and this year will have staff present short talks about how you can stay healthy and manage your health, where to go to get help and who can help you.

The talks will include what services and supports are available across the Local Health District communities, as well as employment opportunities with the health service.

Each session will include time for questions and answers, and the opportunity to have a general discussion about the topic with the presenter following the talk. There will be information and handouts available at the stall if you miss a session and want to know more!

“We hope that people take the time to visit us at Agfair and that one or more presentations pique their interest. The sessions will be down-to-earth and interaction with the public through questions and answers, and general discussion is encouraged,” said a Far West LHD spokesperson.

A Kid’s Story Time sessions will also be held on both days.

As well as presentations and information about services and programs, healthy eating will be highlighted with free fruit and water and various health messages. Information about the new Community Health Centre in Crystal Street will also be available.

The Far West LHD booth will also be promoting good mental health with a series of free books available on a variety of topics including ‘Taking care of Yourself and Your Family’, ‘Supporting Men in Distress’, ‘Mental Health for Men’ and ‘Health for Gents’.
