Have you experienced a level of care or service that goes just that bit further than you expected and wanted the Health Service to know about it? Have you always wanted to recognise someone in the health service for doing a good job?
You now can and it’s as easy as going online and filling out an electronic form!
“Far West LHD takes consumer feedback very seriously and this idea for the public to recognise the good work of our staff was proposed in 2015 by a consumer representative on one of the health service’s committees,” said Zandra Corey, Director Clinical Governance Unit, Far West LHD.
People who use our health services should be able to nominate staff and teams for special recognition when they do a good job, and a process was put in place during 2016 for people to do that.
“Thanks to a great uptake of this initiative, more than half of all our staff recognition nominations for the 2016 Health Awards came from consumers across the LHD,” said Ms Corey.
Patients, carers and consumers can nomination staff three ways.. They can go to the Far West LHD website, click on the ‘Contact Us’ heading on the left of the page and then follow the instructions for nominating via the website. You can also click on ‘Staff Recognition Awards’ in Hot Topics on the front page and follow the instructions.

“These electronic options can be done at any time and from anywhere a person has access to a computer or internet connection. Alternatively, they can fill out a nomination form when they are next visiting the health service,” said Ms Corey.
“The Far West LHD looks forward to hearing from our consumers again, in recognising staff and teams who do good work or go above and beyond when delivering services to the community.”
Nominations for staff recognition will again be celebrated at the annual Far West LHD Health Awards to be held later this year.
