Floor covering replacement program at Broken Hill Hospital

The Broken Hill Hospital will be getting a facelift underfoot when most of its vinyl floors are replaced in a major refurbishment costing $914,000.

This is the first time the vinyl floors have been replaced on this scale in the Broken Hill Hospital since it was opened in 1999. The project has been necessitated due to wear and tear since then.

Floors will be recovered in the Medical and Surgical Wards, Paediatric Ward, Obstetric Ward, Intensive Care Unit, Operating Theatre and hospital corridors.

The public including patients and staff at Broken Hill Health Service may experience some minor disruptions when work starts on Monday, 3 April. Work will start in Medical Ward and is scheduled to continue for the next 20 weeks until finished.

The public including patients and staff are asked to be mindful of the works as they continue throughout the hospital and there may be minor disruptions and workflows. Patient areas will still be accessible.

The Health Service regrets any inconvenience that may be caused for patients and visitors to the hospital and we ask for your patience as this essential work is carried out.
