Health Service celebrates Safe Work Month 2014

Safety is a frame of mind

The Broken Hill Health Service will be celebrating Safe Work Month (October) 2014 and local children are invited to join in by competing in a colour-in competition.

“Safe Work Australia Month is an important initiative run by Safe Work Australia every year,” said Ms Morgan Morris, Broken Hill Health Service WH&S Committee Chairperson.

This year, Safe Work Australia Month is October and the Broken Hill Health Service will be holding a Safe Work Month activity day on Friday, 31 October.

“Safe Work Australia Month is the perfect opportunity for the Health Service to demonstrate our commitment to work health and safety,” said Ms Morris.

Local children are invited to enter a colour-in competition to help celebrate Safe Work Australia Week.

Colour-in the picture, add your name, age and contact details and post or hand it into the hospital’s Pharmacy Department no later than 4pm on Thursday, 30th October 2014. The competition will be drawn on Friday, 31st October 2014 and three prizes are available each age groups 2-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years. Entry forms are also available at the hospital pharmacy during business hours.

Ms Morris is a Safety Ambassador for Safe Work Australia Month and will be working hard to ensure everyone – staff, patients and visitors to the hospital – are all aware of the importance of workplace safety and do their best to practice safe work behaviour.

Each Hospital department will be encouraged to participate in promoting safety in the work place on Friday, 31 October and prizes will be awarded to the best department, best dressed male and best dressed female.
