Finding information about clinics and health specialists visiting your town can sometimes be difficult but that’s been made easier with a new online resource called RHUBI (Remote Health Unit Business Index).
The RHUBI website is an online service directory for consumers and service providers to access information regarding health services in the Far West NSW region.
People can go to RHUBI to find out in real time when their local health service will have upcoming clinics and health programs, when health workers are available and when doctor and specialist appointments can be made. People can also search for health services throughout the District.
Residents can learn more when the RHUBI Promotional Road Show visits their health facility during July. The Road Show will set up information displays in their healthy facility where staff will be on hand to explain what RHUBI is and how it works.
People can look at RHUBI online and get a feel for how it works and how easy you can look up the information it can provide, said Ms Donna K Cruickshank, Far West LHD Manager Planning and Service Development.
“The promotional road show is to raise awareness in communities about RHUBI, which was created so all service providers could make up-to-date information available to the communities they serve,” said Ms Cruickshank.,
“We will be demonstrating how easy RHUBI is to use. We’ll have laptops set up and people can get on and click away to explore RHUBI and all its features.” Health Council members in each town will also be present to help promote RHUBI.
RHUBI allows all registered service providers to enter data about their services and clinicians can easily refer to the information when planning treatment or organising appointments for clients.
Ms Cruickshank said the Road Show wished to highlight in particular the Clinic Calendar on RHUBI.
“The Clinic Calendar is a unique feature of RHUBI. It has specific details on health services within the town. Everyone can use it to find an upcoming clinic or health program in their town or area or to make contact with a service or organisation about their health needs.”
RHUBI was launched by Far West Local Health District last year and covers Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Menindee, Ivanhoe, Balranald, Wentworth, Dareton, Tibooburra, White Cliffs, Gol Gol and Buronga.
