Please attribute to Tom Hynes, Chair, Far West Local Health District Board
On behalf of the Far West Local Health District Board, I would like to introduce three new Board members – Ms Mariette Curcurato-Dunlevy; Mr Wincen Cuy; and Ms Michelle Dickson.
These new members bring additional skills and experience to a Board that over the past six years has guided the District as it works to deliver high quality patient care, with an emphasis on local leadership and decision-making.
The NSW Government undertakes a process to refresh the membership of Local Health District Boards by inviting a public expression of interest every two years in order to ensure the requisite skills mix to provide effective governance and oversight of the work of the Districts. These three new Board members are a result of that process.
As prominent members of our local community, many of you will already have some knowledge of these new Board members and their particular expertise:
Ms Mariette Curcuruto-Dunlevy is a former Principal Solicitor with Far West Community Legal Centre at Broken Hill with recent Board and Committee appointments including Far West Regional Law Society, Silverlea Early Childhood Services, Lifeline Broken Hill and Sacred Heart Parish Primary School Parent Group; Mr Wincen Cuy is the previous Mayor of Broken Hill and the managing Director of Silver Haven Motor Inn and Silver City Tours; and Ms Michelle Dickson is a lecturer in the University of Sydney’s School of Public Health and course coordinator of the Graduate Diploma in Indigenous health promotion.
I expect the particular skills of these new Board members to assist us as Far West LHD looks to the future with renewed emphasis on Aboriginal health, rural and remote service provision and the NDIS roll-out.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those Board members who will no longer be on the Board. Their contributions have been greatly appreciated and I wish them well as they move on to new endeavours.
