The Far West Local Health District Chair of the Board has welcomed two new appointments to the Board.
Dr Andrew Refshauge, Chair of the Far West LHD Board, welcomed the appointment of the new members: A/Prof Dr Lilon Bandler and Mr Paul Kemp.
“On behalf of the Board and Far West LHD, I welcome both Dr Lilon Bandler and Mr Paul Kemp to the Board,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to their insights and input to the Board and their playing an important role in determining the overall direction of the LHD.”
A/Prof Dr Lilon Bandler has had 25 years of experience in private general practice in Sydney and now provides occasional locum GP services for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She has broad teaching experience across the healthcare sector and is currently responsible for the delivery of the Indigenous health education curriculum to University of Sydney medical students, and for a program of academic and personal support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students at the university. She is a board member of Praxis Australia.
Mr Paul Kemp has been employed as a General Manager at Murdi Paaki Regional Housing for 18 years. He is the General Manager of 300 Aboriginal owned and managed properties throughout the Murdi Paaki region. He is the President Saints RLFC for 9 years, a committee member of the Outback Rugby League and Junior Vice President of the Musicians Club Board.
Dr Refshauge said the appointment of the two new members will build on the strengths of the Board and help ensure that the needs of the local communities in the Far West LHD are paramount in all decisions.
“I look forward to welcoming both to our first Board meeting for 2018.”
